Midwest Arts Conference
Turning 21 has never been this much fun! Join us in Kansas City for the annual Midwest Arts Conference, where we'll celebrate our 21st year with a bang! You know this Conference to be the place where both the ideal of artists in our communities and the people who make it happen are held in high esteem. Well known for its hospitable and friendly ethos, the Midwest Arts Conference is an energy-filled convening of presenters, artists, managers, agents, funders, consultants, service organizations, and arts agencies. Travel Stipends Available for the Midwest Arts Conference
Travel Subsidy support is now available for performing artists and presenters throughout Mid-America Arts Alliance's six-state region to attend the 21st Annual Midwest Arts Conference, taking place here in Kansas City from September 17-20. This is an excellent networking, booking and professional development opportunity - and a chance for Mid-America staff to meet with you. We hope you'll be able to join us.
To help you make the trip, Mid-America offers Travel Subsidy support for presenters and performers from our region (Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma, and Texas) who have not been awarded a Midwest Arts Conference travel stipend within the last three years (2007, 2006, or 2005). Travel Subsidy awards are made on a first-come, first-served basis to just one person per organization or artist per group, so please follow up as soon as possible if you're interested.
Discounted registration fees for the Midwest Arts Conference end on July 9th. In addition to the regular conference schedule, we hope you can join us at Mid- America's office, in Kansas City 's burgeoning Crossroads Arts District. We'll host a reception, open to anyone from our six-state region, on Thursday night the 18th from 4:30-6:30. Our offices are just a half- dozen blocks from the Convention Center.
Please visit our Web site for links to the Conference (you need to register first, then request subsidy) and to the eGrant facility where you can apply for Travel Subsidy.
Please contact Performing Arts Director Don Adams at don@maaa.org or Program Manager Betty Maltbia at betty@maaa.org if you have questions. We hope to see you this fall in Kansas City !
